The Law Office of Seth C. Weston, PLC, first opened in 2003, and maintains the highest and strictest standards when it comes to our clients and the law. We have a solid reputation for being responsive, dedicated, and thorough which stems from an unyielding work ethic and thirst for knowledge. The more we know, the better an asset we are to you.
It is not a stretch to say we live and breathe the law. Nothing is more important to us than playing a role in upholding your rights.
I am a seasoned trial attorney who has been providing legal advice throughout Roanoke County, Roanoke City, the City of Salem, Franklin County, Bedford County, Botetourt County and courts throughout Southwest Virginia for more than a decade, and have been protecting citizen's rights for even longer. I currently serve on the Board of Governors for the Criminal Law Section of the Virginia State Bar, and as President of the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. As a former prosecutor, police officer, and US Marine, I possess a unique combination of training and experience that provides me invaluable insight and an uncommon ability to resolve serious legal problems for my clients. I have served in the U.S. Marine Corps, earned the rank of Sergeant with the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, D.C., and practiced law as a prosecutor in Roanoke City and as a defense attorney in the greater Roanoke area including Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts, General District Courts, and Circuit Courts of the Commonwealth of Virginia. I appear regularly in the United States federal courts in southwest Virginia, and had a case granted certiorari by the United States Supreme Court.
My approach to law in general is informed by my unique life experience and training. I am often able to use this to guide clients to achieve solutions to problems that seem irreconcilable at the outset of the case. As a former police officer, Sergeant and Internal Affairs Agent, I know how to investigate and find evidence to substantiate your claim, and help create reasonable doubt in criminal cases. During my nearly twelve years with the Metropolitan Police Department I received numerous honors and awards, including being recognized and awarded as a "Top Cop" by the National Association of Police Organizations for my investigative work. I continue to apply my strong investigative skills and reasoning to my cases to find factual support for the client's case.
As a result of having been both a police officer and prosecutor, I have courtroom credibility and trial experence that few can match. Having served on both sides of the courtoom and as a witness as a police officer, the only seat I have to fill is that of Judge.
Given all these accomplishments, I am most proud of my beautiful wife and three children. I enjoy spending time with them and going to their activities, as well as hunting, fishing, shooting firearms, camping, and most all outdoor activties.
